College Classics offers perhaps the most interesting of all Midland College classes to area senior citizens. The program, which was initiated in the spring of 1989, includes a series of courses designed especially for local residents who are 50 and older.
Registration for the Spring 2013 schedule of courses begins Monday, January 14.

Classes are offered through a registration fee of just $25.00 per semester. Payment of this fee entitles the student to enroll in as many classes as he or she chooses. As a special service to the students for which the program is designed, many of the classes are scheduled between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. The spring semester consists of three sessions and the fall semester consists of two. Sessions are four weeks in length.
The instructors of College Classics are recruited from among the Midland College faculty, continuing education teachers and community volunteers. With their areas of expertise and years of experience, these teachers truly bring to life such subjects as Political Geography where students have an opportunity to learn about the culture, history, and politics of others countries; Movies in Review where the class will view segments of various films and discuss the director's techniques and intentions; United States Presidents and their impact on our heritage; and virtual tours of foreign lands to name a few. The generosity of these instructors allows the college to offer this unique program to a special segment of the community.
