Dear MC family & friends,

I want to share with you three exciting piano events that will take place at Midland College. I hope that you and your students can attend one or all three! All three events will take place in Wagner & Brown Auditorium in the Allison Fine Arts Building. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Here they are:

Dianne Rahbee
Dianne Rahbee (b. 1938) is an Armenian American composer, pianist, teacher and lecturer whose solo piano works have recently captured the attention of pianists and audiences around the world. I have personally heard Matthew perform many times and can't say enough about his pianism. You won't be disappointed!

Rapturously buoyant in her evenhanded mix of skill and soul”, pianist Gayle Spradley Bizzell’s performance engagements around the country have included the Astman International Concert Series at Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY), the Sundays on Stage Series at Montgomery Auditorium (Philadelphia, PA), the City Lights and Stars Series (Huntsville, AL), the Promenade Series at Auburn University (Montgomery, AL), the Woodland Concert Series (Hartford, CT), Great Sunday Performances (Middletown, CT), the Northeast Performing Arts Conference (Washington, D.C.), as well as numerous engagements throughout New York City, including recitals at Bruno Walter Hall of Lincoln Center, the Museum of Modern Art, La Maison Francaise, Saint Peter’s Church/The Citicorp Center and the Brooklyn Museum. This will certainly be a wonderful night of piano music!

Fantasies and Illusions: An Interdisciplinary Concert

Sunday, April 13, 2014 ~ 3:00pm

This is an interdisciplinary show integrating visual art, dance and music starring pianist Eugenio Zapata and dancer Yelena Konetchy. This unique show features works by Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Chopin, Earl Wild, William Bolcom, Amy Beach and Clarence “Pine Top” Smith. The performance promises outstanding piano music, flowing dance movements, and a multimedia presentation.
