REMINDER ... MC Offering Summer 2015 Travel Course to France

Midland College is pleased to announce another travel/study course scheduled for June 2015. The 9-day Humanities Trip, led by MC English Professor Dr. Pamela Howell, will include a tour of France with stops in Paris, Provence and Nice (Coté d’Azur region).

"Just a reminder that the June 2015 Trip to France is still open for you and friends," said Dr. Howell. "The prices listed on the website are good until August 1, 2014, and are billed. Friends from other cities can join ... they will just have a different departure point and adjusted fees to that departure city if they don't fly out of Midland."

The all-inclusive journey includes daily breakfast and dinner, Paris Metro Round-Trip Ticket, a French cooking lesson, a Seine dinner cruise and a Pétanque lesson.  In addition, the trip will encompass guided tours of Paris, the Louvre, Versailles chateau and gardens, the Eiffel Tower, Pont du Gard, Nimes Roman Arena and the Aigues-Mortes Ramparts.

Participants will depart Midland on June 1.  June 2-4 will be spent in Paris, June 5 in Provence and June 7-8 in Nice.  The trip concludes on June 9 with a flight back to Midland.

The tour cost is $4,629 per traveler. This rate includes airfare, hotel, breakfast and dinner, and all cultural activities and tours listed above; an automatic payment plan of $514 per month is offered. Optional extensions and extra nights are also available.

Optional college credit with some additional coursework is offered for English 2332 (World Literature I) and English 2333 (World Literature II).

Dr. Howell has been leading successful travel/study trips every-other summer for several years.  Her most recent trip included the British Isles in summer 2013.

Howell explained, “The trips are a fabulous way to experience the culture, literature, art and history of other countries.  While this trip does include many guided tours, there will also be ample free time for participants to enjoy the sights and sounds of France on their own.”
