Lady Chap Volleyball opens conference play with a win

In a thrilling five-game contest in the Chaparral Center, the Midland College Lady Chaps held on for a victory over Clarendon College. MC improves to 3-10 overall and with the win, goes to 1-0 in the WJCAC with scores of 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 22-25, 15-13 (3-2). After nearly a month on the road, the Lady Chaps returned to a strong turnout of supporters. MC has won three of their last five matches after opening the season 0-8.

Midland College was led by Yahelis Villegas and Alina Demidova who each recorded 11 kills in the contest. They were followed by a nine kill performance by Anne-Mari Kaur. Midland also receive solid performances by Samantha Orta, with 25 assists; Myia Price's 19 digs and Samantha Furtmann's 14 assists.

The Lady Chaps will return to action after a week off, when they host New Mexico Military Institute on Wednesday, September 17th @ 7:00 p.m. at the Chap Center.
