BIG SPRING, TEXAS - With Howard College making it a close game at the half, Midland College coach Ron Jones told his Lady Chaparral basketball ream to pick up the pace.

The Lady Chaps, in particular Tajanay Veiga, responded with a strong second half to pull away from the Hawks at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on Wednesday night.

Midland College shot 54 percent in the second half and Veiga finished with a game-high 21 points as the Lady Chaps rolled to a 77-53 victory in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference opener for both teams ...

Midland College returns home to play Clarendon College in another WJCAC game at 3 p.m. Saturday, in the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center, MC Main Campus
