MIDLAND, TEXAS - Maurice O’Field is motivated to try to help the Midland College men’s basketball team make the postseason, and it certainly showed on Monday night.
O’Field had a game-high 31 points to go with eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as New Mexico Junior College made key plays in overtime for a 74-71 victory at Chaparral Center. With the loss, MC fell to 17-11, and 7-7 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference, a half game back of New Mexico Military Institute, which knocked off South Plains College 74-71.
The Chaps now must head to Odessa College and South Plains to close the season and attempt qualify for the regional tournament with some key road wins. It won’t be easy, but the Chaps remain confident ...
