MIDLAND, TEXAS - On a day in which the weather made it hard for the Midland College baseball team to find its offensive groove at times, Shane Browning helped the Chaparrals salvage a split against Frank Phillips College on Monday afternoon.

JC BASEBALL: Chaps sweep Plainsmen in WJCAC opener

MIDLAND, TEXAS - Going into the Western Junior College Athletic Conference opening weekend, Midland College sophomore pitcher Daniel Crooks wanted to help the Chaparrals get off to a good start, especially after last year’s 0-10 beginning in league play.

Despite having to wait two days because of the weather and then dealing with chilly 30-something degree temperatures on Sunday afternoon, Crooks did not allow Mother Nature or Frank Phillips College keep him from accomplishing his goal ...
