Lady Chap softball goes 5-1 in weekend tournament

MIDLAND, TEXAS - Midland College softball coach Tommy Ramos believes his young team is headed in the right direction after the Lady Chaparrals went 5-1 over the weekend at the 2016 Spring Classic at the Freddie Ezell Softball Complex.

The 15-ranked Lady Chaparrals split their two games on Saturday, rolling past Lamar (Colo.) Community College 18-2, before losing to Barton County (Kan.) Community College 7-0.

“I thought it was a good weekend,” Ramos said. “The one thing we’re talking about as a team is that destiny is not perfection, but growth. And that’s what we’re looking for as far as continuing to grow each day. We did a good job defensively and we got some good pitching from all our girls. And for the most part, we executed well at the plate” ...
