The Student Government Association (SGA) at Midland College is holding its annual Canned Food drive, a community service project benefiting the food pantry at First Christian Church in Midland. This year's drive is now underway and will continue through Monday, December 5.

If you notice some good sales on canned goods, please pick up a few and bring them to MC. There will be boxes in the Amistad Atrium of the F. Marie Hall Academic Building (MHAB), the Leona G. and John E. Fox Science Building (FSB), the Allison Fine Arts Building (AFA) and the Dorothy and Clarence Scharbauer, Jr. Student Center (SSC).

The drive will continue through Monday, December 5, and then the proceeds will be picked-up during the week of finals and delivered to the food pantry, with help from the Midland College athletic programs.

"For several years we have done this successfully for Memorial Christian Church which has now merged with First Christian Church," said MC Chaparral golf coach Delnor Poss. "We weekly provide food for approximately 125 families that represent about 400 to 500 of the needy in Midland each week."
