MC students volunteer as science fair judges

• Opportunity to mentor children, represent Midland College

Each fall semester, Midland College (MC) Biology Professor Dr. Paul Mangum coordinates judging logistics with Washington Elementary Math and Science Institute for the school’s annual science fair. This year, 26 MC students who are enrolled in General Biology I and 6 MC Engineering students are volunteering to serve as judges for the fair.

“Our students are excited to perform this community service,” said Mangum. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to mentor children and represent Midland College.”

MC students who will serve as judges include the following: Alexis Andiola, Jena Burkhart, Cameron Crabtree, Angel Campos, Janie Dominguez, Ivie Elliott, Nicolas Fonseca, Genesis Gomez, Michael Hayes, Nohely Hernandez, Zachary Hunter, Kristen Johnson, Emily Jolley, Isaiah Jones, Veronica Juarez, Sachie Kutu-Akoi, Alena Lara, Dana Lohrke, Nora Lopez, Brittney McPherson, Brianna Newton, Tito Ornelas, Keagan Parham, Obadiah Pruitt, Michael Redman, Alan Rodriguez, Alondra Rodriguez, Joycelyne Rodriguez, Breann Schreiber, Jason Stokes, Ashley Vanfleet and Estefania Venegas.
