Dean of Community Relations & Special Events

March 27-31 has been designated as Health & Wellness Week @ MC. Several events are planned for students, employees and the community. On Tuesday, March 28, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN chief medical correspondent, will be the guest speaker for the spring installment of the Davidson Lecture Series. More at www.midland.edu/gupta

On Wednesday, March 29, MC is partnering with Midland Health to bring a special lunch/lecture on whole-food, plant-based nutrition by Dr. Scott Stoll to campus. Dr. Stoll is a board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. As a member of the 1994 United States Olympic Bobsled Team, Dr. Stoll is well suited for his additional roles as a team physician at Lehigh University, the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, and advising physician serving professional and Olympic athletes. He specializes in regenerative medicine, utilizing natural treatments, diet, and lifestyle to aid the body in healing chronic disease and injuries.

Reservations for the March 29 plant-based lunch/lecture are already coming into the Community Programs Continuing Education office. Seating is limited, so if you are interested in attending this event, please register soon at www.midland.edu/drstoll Cost is $15.

If you would like to hear Dr. Stoll, but don’t want to participate in the lunch, you may also hear a presentation by Dr. Stoll at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, as he speaks exclusively to MC health sciences and primary care pathway students in the Davidson Family Health Sciences Lecture Hall. The 2:00 p.m. presentation is free.

The Student Activities Office has other fun and exciting events scheduled for the week of March 27 including an MC Employee Group Walking Contest. More info about that event later.
