Lady Chap basketball comes up short in tournament

WOLFFORTH, TEXAS - The Midland College women’s basketball team that strolled into Odessa College a little more than a week ago and handed the No. 1 team in the NJCAA its first loss of the season was nowhere to be found on Wednesday night.

The No. 22-ranked Lady Chaparrals struggled to get shots to fall, were sloppy with the basketball and couldn’t come up with enough stops in a 61-44 loss to McLennan Community College in a Region V Tournament first round game at The Tiger Pit.

The loss likely ended the Lady Chaps’ season at 17-10 as an at-large bid to the NJCAA National Tournament seems like a long shot, especially after such a quick exit in the postseason ...
