HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - On any other day, 31 runs and 31 hits would have probably been enough for Midland College baseball to earn a doubleheader sweep.

On a windy Friday afternoon, it only earned the Chaparrals a split after New Mexico Junior College scored 10 runs in the sixth inning of an 18-15 win in the first game at Ray Birmingham Thunderbird Field. MC earned the split when it used a nine-run first inning in the second game to run-rule the T-birds, 16-5, in six innings ...

The Chaps will be back home for the second half of their weekend series when they meet the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds in a seven- and nine-inning doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at MC's Christensen Stadium.
