Dean of Community Relations & Special Events

On Saturday, April 22, Midland College (MC) will honor the men and women who currently serve and have served in the U.S. Armed Services.

MC will partner with the Midland Vet Center and Permian Basin Military Partners Coalition to host a Veterans Benefits & Resources Fair from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Scharbauer Student Center on the main MC campus, 3600 N. Garfield in Midland. Veterans and their families are invited to stop by during the day for information about services in the Midland community. Representatives from various organizations, including the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) will be present.

MC Vice President of Information Technology & Facilities Dennis Sever serves as an advisor to the MC veterans student organization and explained, “Midland College currently has approximately 300 students who are military veterans. Staff in our Veterans Assistance Office connect our students to organizations for assistance; however, we realize that there are many military veterans in our community who do not know where they can go for assistance. We also want to be able to share information with veterans about special educational opportunities and tuition assistance.”
