Emergency Response Training this summer at MC

• First exercise set for May 22

From Chief Richard McKee
Midland College Police Department

This summer, MCPD is going to conduct emergency response training at each building. The purpose is to see how effective the emergency response plan is and identify possible flaws or problems. This will NOT be a surprise exercise and the date and time will be announced prior to any training. This should cause minimal disruption since only the specified building will be involved. Prior to the training MCPD officers will be visiting buildings and providing additional information on the upcoming training.

This training requires no preparation from MC employees. The exercise will begin with a broadcast message over the emergency alert system in the specified building only. We will not be using the Chap Alert text message for this exercise. MC employees should know where their safe shelter location is and go to that location. This exercise should only last about 15 minutes and an ALL CLEAR message will be broadcast upon completion.

The first training will be this Monday, May 22, 2017 between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. in the SimLife Center and the Davidson Family Health Science buildings on the MC main campus.
