Midland College (MC) will observe its 44th Annual Commencement Ceremony tonight (May 12) at 7:00 p.m. in the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on the main MC campus, 3600 N. Garfield.

With over 500 students scheduled to graduate, this marks a record number of graduates for the college. Also setting a record are the number of Honors Program graduates. Twenty-eight graduating students have taken at least 12 hours of honors credit and will receive the designation of Midland College Scholars.

The commencement address will be given by Lauren Elizabeth Bell (in photo at right) who will be graduating with an Associate of Arts degree. As one of MC’s student leaders, Bell has served as vice president of the Student Government Association and vice president of the Midland College Students in Philanthropy club. She has also been selected to receive the Laura McCabe Students in Philanthropy Scholarship and will continue her studies at Texas Tech University where she will be pursuing a degree in architecture.

The public is invited to tonight’s event; tickets are not required.

The ceremony will also be available through live video stream via this Livestream page.
