On Thursday, June 22, Tyler Carson with Enterprise presented a $1,000 check from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to the Midland College (MC) Foundation in order to enhance the college’s career placement resource library.
MC’s Career Placement Office and accompanying career resource library are located in the Scharbauer Student Center on the main Midland College campus (3600 N. Garfield Street in Midland). The office offers assistance to MC students as they search for full- and part-time jobs while they are taking classes. As students near completion of coursework for bachelor degrees, associate degrees and workforce certificates, the office also provides assistance with resume preparation. In addition, staff in MC’s Career Placement Office conduct and coordinate workshops covering interview skills, business attire and other helpful topics for job attainment. MC alumni are also able to seek assistance in obtaining jobs in order to advance careers.
“The gift from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation will allow us to purchase books, DVDs, computer tutorials and other instructional materials for students to use as they prepare resumes and enter the job search process,” said Lupe Daniels, MC’s Career Placement Office coordinator. “In the spring of each year, we host a job fair, in which area employers come to campus to visit with students and graduates. Thanks to the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, we will be able to provide some excellent material to use in preparation for the 2018 event.”
The Enterprise Holdings Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which, through its independent regional subsidiaries, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
